Test Reaction

Disclaimer for the Reaction Time Test

The Test Reaction reaction time test and guides are for general information and entertainment only. They are not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional advice.

Read this first: a browser reaction time test measures how quickly you respond to a visual colour change on your own screen, using your own mouse, keyboard or touchscreen. It includes delay from your hardware and browser, and it is affected by sleep, focus, distraction, and setup.

Not a medical test

It cannot diagnose any condition, assess fitness to drive, or measure cognitive health.

No guarantees

Nothing here guarantees an improvement by a specific amount, or a gaming rank. No exercise, supplement, or setup change is guaranteed to work for you.

Use sensibly

If you notice a sudden or unexplained change in your reactions, coordination, vision, or general health, speak to a qualified clinician.

Not a laboratory

Research in the guides is described in general terms; individual results vary with task and equipment.

Decisions this test cannot make

A fast average does not prove fitness, and a slow average does not prove unfitness. Those decisions depend on many factors a click test cannot measure, including vision, coordination, judgement, fatigue, and the specific demands of the task.

Content accuracy and external sources

Guides are written to be helpful and honest, with research described in general terms where exact values depend on task and equipment. If you spot an error, please let us know via the Contact page so it can be corrected. Guides may mention external resources; Test Reaction does not control external content and is not responsible for its accuracy or availability.

Children and supervised use: the test is a general-audience tool, but younger users should use it with appropriate supervision, as with any online activity. Test Reaction does not collect account details from any visitor, including younger visitors (see the Privacy Policy).
